bringING jazz to the world in a fun and innovative way through blazing solos and unique compositions

About

Caleb Dillon-Murray is a saxophonist and composer living in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been a professional musician since the age of 16 and has been composing for various acts and commercials around the world. He has toured all over Europe and used to work on cruise ships as part of the band. As a sideman, he is currently in 2 bands: Coast Tribe, a Cali-reggae fusion group from Half Moon Bay, CA and The Delta Wires, a Blues Band from Oakland, CA. Caleb has also written shows for Hannah Brady, Azure McCall, and many other performers all around the globe. His goals would be becoming involved with the Grammys at some point in his career as well as to continue producing amazing tunes with orchestras, big bands, and all sorts of other unique ensembles.

Caleb originally comes from Half Moon Bay, CA, about 30 minutes south of San Francisco. He started studying saxophone around 4th grade and really enjoyed playing jazz music. Throughout most of his middle and high school years, Caleb was primarily a Baritone saxophonist and got into the tenor sax around 16. He went to college at San Jose State for 3 years before transferring and finishing his degree at Hope College. He then studied with Chuck Owen at the University of South Florida on a full-ride scholarship. A forever-student himself, Caleb loves to learn about new things all the time and is always pushing himself toward new goals, never fully complacent on what he has accomplished.

He has 2 full length albums called “Jammin’ Through December” and “The Place To Be”. As a sideman, he has also recorded 2 albums with Coast Tribe and 1 album with the Delta Wires. Caleb has also appeared on a tune with Geoff Weers called “Let’s Make Music”. Caleb has some more recording aspirations in the future and is always looking to collaborate with new genres and styles. He’s worked with many different styles already, making him one of the more eclectic musicians out there currently, including straight-ahead jazz, blues, funk, reggae, bluegrass, hip-hop, electronic, harmonica duos, classical, Arabic, and Indian music.

Caleb continues to be on the cutting edge of modern music and loves living a musical life. He looks forward to producing the most exciting music around the industry, whether as a sideman or as the leader. Always competitive to push himself professionally, Caleb’s passion for music is his driving force; a force he intends to focus on creating the best modern jazz for a new generation of musicians.
